snuggly. how appealing for a rainy day like this one?

love the grey. love the ceiling beams.

subtle little monogram on those pillows…and hello blue armoire and desk!

like sleeping in the garden.

sweet and girly.

bold painted brick. weighty matelasse coverlet.

more matelasse. flowers and a pile of books. what else is needed bedside?

more beams! rustic european.

hope you have a snuggly place to land {and perhaps a snuggly puppy to join you if you’re lucky} and that you get to spend some time relaxing in it soon.

nerd alert. read @ your own risk

i started re-reading moby dick yesterday for a class i’m teaching next year and much to my surprise, i’m enjoying it much more than i did as a freshman in highschool. we’ll see about when the whale slaughter drags on and on, but i love the writing! i guess not surprisingly, i didn’t appreciate the richness and brilliance of the writing back then, although i was all into henry james, austen and the brontes at that stage in my literary discoveries. anyway, i am quite pleased that this summer read may not turn out to be the never-ending burden i expected it to be.

so along the lines of good literature: www.outofprintclothing.com i love this idea and wish i had a reason to justify buying more tshirts. what a cool concept.

so now i should stop blogging and get back to Ishmael, Queequeg and the whale…

erin’s bangs

June 24, 2010 § 5 Comments

i’ve started watching the city. perhaps it’s college nostalgia after having kept up with the hills, perhaps it’s needing a mental break from 11th grade english lit prep, perhaps it’s deciding i enjoy the flexibility and autonomy of watching tv online. regardless, i think i want bangs like this. look how versatile they are! she even parts them on the side sometimes but then can pin them up too. taylor’s not sold. but with my hair being so thick and straight, i like the versatility afforded by long bangs. these are bigger and thicker than the non-committal side sweep ones i have now. i really think i like them though… hair appointment july 16th… stay tuned. thoughts?
